Del Mar, En Fuego and Narnia Box Set
This morning after church we went out to La Jolla for some pancakes at IHOP… but IHOP was, ummm, gone. They’re turning it into some new Italian bistro or something. I suppose it was just a matter of time. That IHOP always did seem like the only place on Prospect Street (aside from Starbucks) that was out of place among all the other fancy shops and restaurants. It’s too bad though because that was our favorite IHOP. It was very quiet and had a little view of the ocean from the patio.
Anyway, Sudi and Lucy are geniouses and suggested En Fuego (my new favorite restaurant) in Del Mar as a Plan B. We had veggie and Mahi Mahi fajitas, of course. Delicious! Somebody please give that chef an award! Great service too. After lunch we headed back out to La Mesa and went to Target where I finally picked up the Narnia box set. We had a very nice day.
Leaning Tower of Pisa. Really.

I’ve been on that road. That’s an awesome road!
I usually start way up north, in Carlsbad. Up where the 78 meets the 5, I get on Carlsbad Blvd. It’s right on the coast line and I take it aaallll the way south untill it turns into Genesee Ave, then I just get on the 5 south and go home.
Another think I like about that road: up north, there’s lots of motorcyclists. Lots of nice bikes to look at.

Cool, we did that once when we lived in Clairemont. We went up Genesee to Torrey Pines, through Del Mar and all the way to Carlsbad without touching the freeway once. I think the nicest stretches are Torrey Pines, Del Mar and Carlsbad. Encinitas get’s a little bit ghetto and you lose the view for a few miles.

Someday… someday, I’ll run that stretch on a hog.

And then turn around and do it again?
