Church Members

Steven and I went forward in church about a month ago. God had put it in our hearts to become members of our church for a while now. It has been a very fun process. First, on that day we met with a counselor who asked us a lot of  questions and had us fill out a membership application. The requirements are, baptism, membership class, interview with the Servant Ministries Director and the actual “Right Hand of Fellowship Ceremony”.

Since Steven and I have both been baptized by immersion, me in 1988 and Steven in 2003 that is one step we don’t need to worry about. The membership class was Sunday, it was two hours long and so much fun, we learned a lot, had a great discussion and at the end the head deacon met with us and asked us questions about our faith in Christ. His name is Dan and he was very nice! 

On Tuesday we were interviewd by the Director of Servant Ministries, her name is Joyce. Steven met with her privately at first for about an hour and 15 minutes and then I joined them. My time with her was great, but I will say no more since Steven wants to blog about our time with her.

At this point all of our information is being processed as we are being ushered into a new phase in our lives. When we started this process I knew it would be good for us, but I had no idea we would be so blessed. However I am not one bit surprised because whenever we give more of ourselves to the Lord, He always pours out blessings. He always, always, ALWAYS out-gives us.

In the next couple weeks we will get an invitation from Dr. Jeremiah to join him at the “Right Hand of Fellowship Ceremony” which will be on a Sunday evening. We will be introduced to the whole congregation and then we will be official. Following the ceremony we will celebrate with other new members at a New Members Reception. We are very excited! We are so happy and feel so privileged to know Jesus and to serve Him.
