Steven planted our moms…I mean our mums!
Steven spent 7 hours planting a new garden this past Sunday. We learned a lot from our first Pentunia garden. This time Steven meticulously installed a weed-blocker cloth. That took hours, because the cloth needs to be measured, cut, and stapled. Also, the cloth needs to go around the sprinkler system lids, not an easy task. We got some beautiful magenta mums. They had not bloomed when we bought them last week at Home Depot, now from my window I can see them and they are all opened up and happy! This garden is very different from the Petunia garden, this one is much cleaner and the colors are very Christmasy!
You will notice our American Flag theme. We are feeling very patriotic in light of the coming Election. McCain-Maverick insipres us to display our flag every chance we get. That is part of the reason why we chose red flowers.
Steven did all the work and hard labor, all I did was wash the car and take a zillion pictures. Good Job Darling!

Thanks for doing such a fine job documenting this momentous occasion. I love the picture of you smiling with the flag bandana. You’re a cutie pie! And THE patriot.
Now off to get another bag of mulch to hide the landscaping cloth with.

Amazing what some soil and hard work will do. You are turning into quite the gardener, Steve. You must have gotten your green thumb from your mother!

Beautiful job! I hope your rabbit friends do not eat them.

The mums turned brown in one week. Good thing Home Depot has a 1 year warranty on all plants (isn’t that hilarious). Now we have pansies that should survive the winter. They’re way prettier. Pictures soon!
