This morning after church we went out to La Jolla for some pancakes at IHOP… but IHOP was, ummm, gone. They’re turning it into some new Italian bistro or something. I suppose it was just a matter of time. That IHOP always did seem like the only place on Prospect Street (aside from Starbucks) that was out of place among all the other fancy shops and restaurants. It’s too bad though because that was our favorite IHOP. It was very quiet and had a little view of the ocean from the patio.
Anyway, Sudi and Lucy are geniouses and suggested En Fuego (my new favorite restaurant) in Del Mar as a Plan B. We had veggie and Mahi Mahi fajitas, of course. Delicious! Somebody please give that chef an award! Great service too. After lunch we headed back out to La Mesa and went to Target where I finally picked up the Narnia box set. We had a very nice day.
Leaning Tower of Pisa. Really.

I just finished reading Prince Caspian, the fourth (by Narnian chronology) of seven books in the The Chronicles of Narnia series. I really enjoyed it… it’s very engrossing, very fun! Sudi got it for me for Christmas because I wanted to know what happened next after seeing the movie The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe (click for a great site). It’s the first time I’ve finished a book (a small one at that) in four days! I’ve really only become a reader since marrying Sudi.
I’m currently reading The Case for Faith and browsing World Almanac 2006 (I like miscellaneous info for some reason).
I am looking forward to getting the Narnia box set next time we go to Target. The Prince Caspian movie is supposedly under production right now and that is something to look forward to also! Some people compare Narnia to Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. Lord of the Rings is great and has similar themes, but is so different in that it is darker, whereas the hope of Aslan is always looming in Narnia. It’s a Childrens series, but a wonderful adventure for everybody. As for Harry Potter, I think it’s pretty lame (sorry Dan).

And now, off to Olive Garden and Spectrum for Lucy’s birthday (more on this later!)…
