You Gotta Love CountryPosted by Sudi in Fun on January 12th, 2007 at 12:55pm
Among many other lovely gifts, for Christmas, Steven made me a CD with my favorite Country Songs. I know some of you are rolling your eyes, but I have a case to make for country music. No, it’s not all twangy and it’s not all about drunks and lost loves. Quite the contrary some of the most beautiful lyrics can be found among Country’s best hits. Here’s a sample of the words to my favorite songs: When I get where I’m going When I get where I’m going I’m gonna land beside a lion Live like you were dyin’ Well I finally read the good book, and I took a good long hard look Chorus Bridge My wish My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to, I hope you never look back, but you never forget, Jesus take the wheel Jesus take the wheel She’s Everything She’s the giver I wish I could be She’s the voice I love to hear You see Country is about people, about loving God, your love, your family and your country. En Fuego & La JollaWe went to En Fuego today for lunch. Gotta love those fajitas, man! Wooooie! After that we went down to La Jolla for some shoppin’ and walkin’. December FunOn december 9th, my good friend Reese invited Steven and I to her CD release. It was fabulous, she is a very talented saxophone player and singer. The opening numbers before her, were very good, great gospel music. It was a night full of fun and worship. Our other friend Britt was there and we all had a great time.
Last week my honey took some beautiful pictures of the sunset and I have included one of them. This past Saturday, on December 16th I was invited to a Tea Party. I had never been to one. It was wonderful, I had Candy Cane Lane Tea and Cranberry-Orange Scones.
Yesterday, I was able to sing with the choir at church, we sang from Handel’s Messiah, the Hallelujah Chorus, it was so much fun. I loooooove singing! After the service we took some nice pictures in front of a Christmas tree. It was a cold morning.
My Little Gang- Sculpey Creations by Sudi
For all my friends -Erin and Noelle- in Colorado who want a Sculpey tutorial, here it is.
Sculpey comes in little 2 ounce blocks. You can buy them individually and pick your favorite colors or buy them in multi-packs which is cheaper and well worth it, IF you like all the colors in the set. You will also need a set of basic plastic tools. Do not use kitchen tools. Zip Lock Bags to put all your sculpey in by color. It keeps it neat and fresh. If you want to polish your creations you can buy Matte or Glossy Lacquer. To make pencil heads you will also need to buy cheap pencils at Target or Wal-Mart. I reccomend fun pencils as opposed to the regular yellow ones. Also buy a small plastic container to put all your supplies in. If you are making Christmas Ornaments you need the hooks, etc. Sculpey is pretty hard so before you mold it you will need to soften it with your hands. You can either make your own creations, get ideas from Sculpey.com or buy Sculpey molds which ever you prefer. Sculpey creations must be baked at 275 degrees for 30 minutes. Place a sheet of aluminun foil on cookie sheet and place creations on it. (not directly on cookie sheet since you use that for food). Please remember never to eat snacks while you are “crafting”. When you are done, wash your hands thoroughly. And now presenting Sudi’s creations…. “My Little Gang” (click to enlarge)
