February Fun

Posted by Sudste in Family, Fun, Holidays, Home, Photography, Places on February 24th, 2007 at 11:04am

February was a load of fun. Our friends from Minnesota the Sea-Birds, I mean the Sieberts and us went to En Fuego and took a stroll in Del Mar. Valentine’s Day was romantical and delicious. Last weekend we celebrated Mom’s Birthday at PF Changs hence the photos by the horse. Here we present a collage of fun pictures, which by the way, are not in order.

Valentine Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza

Posted by Sudi in Artwork, Fun, Holidays, Home on February 16th, 2007 at 09:15am

A few weeks ago I told Steven that I was craving a slice of Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza, yes you read it right. Imagine a Bacon Cheeseburger and all its ingredients including crunchy little pickles and combine them with a pizza. Back when I was living in Mt. Lake MN, my friend Sue and I would have lunch every week at the Pizza Ranch, yeah I know it’s a sad name, but what can say it was Mountain Lake. So for Valentine’s Day I come home and Steven is making me, miracle of miracles, a Vegan Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza. Pizza crust, pizza sauce, veggie ground beef, veggie cheddar cheese, veggie facon and tiny crunchy pickles tossed on the pizza after it is baked. WOWSERS!

It was a fabulously unexpected and delicious treat, not to mention very thoughtful and romantical.

May I add this feast was accompanied by many other surprises such as Red Roses, Heart Shaped Ballons, Sweet Cards, Teccino and White Cake for desert and lovely Frank Sinatra playing in the background.

Swept off my feet all over again.

To Chef Boyardee Five Stars!

Heaven and Christ

Posted by Sudi in General, Home, Places on January 17th, 2007 at 05:03pm

This morning for my devotional I read:

“Heaven and Christ are the same thing. To be with Christ is to be in heaven, and to be in heaven is to be with Christ.”

“O my Lord Jesus Christ, if I could be in heaven without thee, it would be a hell; and if I could be in hell, and have thee still, it would be a heaven to me, for thou art all the heaven I want.”

All we need to be blessed, supremely blessed, is “to be with Christ.”

My Smoking Condo Video

Posted by Steven in Home on January 15th, 2007 at 08:30am

A condo across the street seemed to have caught a few days ago. Here’s my video, including cheesy editing. Google Video rejected it so here it is on YouTube. It’s about 5 minutes.

Eight Airplanes

Posted by Steven in General, Home on November 6th, 2006 at 07:34pm

I just stepped out onto the balcony and counted eight airplanes and helicopters in the night sky, all visible at the same time. It struck me as interesting and so I am sharing it.

A Crisp Fall Day

Posted by Steven in Home, Photography, Places on November 6th, 2006 at 03:32pm

This is the first and only blog post I can categorize as “Home” and “Places” at the same time. On clear days I like to peek outside our bedroom window to see if I can see Mt. Helix. Today is especially clear… and with pretty trees. This is the same shot at different zoom levels.

My Little Gang- Sculpey Creations by Sudi

Posted by Sudi in Fun, Home on October 21st, 2006 at 09:19am

I’ve been working with Sculpey lately, my new hobby, kind of out-of-charater since I am not one-bit-crafty but it’s been fun. Sculpey is colored clay that can be baked.

For all my friends -Erin and Noelle- in Colorado who want a Sculpey tutorial, here it is.

sculpeypack.jpgAll suplies can be bought at your local craft store.

Sculpey comes in little 2 ounce blocks. You can buy them individually and pick your favorite colors or buy them in multi-packs which is cheaper and well worth it, IF you like all the colors in the set.

You will also need a set of basic plastic tools. Do not use kitchen tools.

Zip Lock Bags to put all your sculpey in by color. It keeps it neat and fresh.

If you want to polish your creations you can buy Matte or Glossy Lacquer.

To make pencil heads you will also need to buy cheap pencils at Target or Wal-Mart. I reccomend fun pencils as opposed to the regular yellow ones.

Also buy a small plastic container to put all your supplies in.

If you are making Christmas Ornaments you need the hooks, etc.

Sculpey is pretty hard so before you mold it you will need to soften it with your hands. You can either make your own creations, get ideas from Sculpey.com or buy Sculpey molds which ever you prefer.

Sculpey creations must be baked at 275 degrees for 30 minutes. Place a sheet of aluminun foil on cookie sheet and place creations on it. (not directly on cookie sheet since you use that for food).

Please remember never to eat snacks while you are “crafting”. When you are done, wash your hands thoroughly.

And now presenting Sudi’s creations…. “My Little Gang” (click to enlarge)

Hottest Day Ever

Posted by Steven in Home on July 22nd, 2006 at 03:23pm

We noticed it was extremely hot this morning around 9:00 and figured it would surely be another hot day. I checked the forecast which said the high in La Mesa for today would be 98 degrees. Not uncommon here in east San Diego for the last few weeks. So, we’ve been sitting inside with the air conditioning on. I’m working on a top secret project while my love works on her homework.

Then, a few minutes ago, I checked weather.com and saw this!

The highest recorded temperature in La Mesa, CA was 109°F in 1988.

Today is the hottest day ever recorded in La Mesa!

Our First Customer

Posted by Steven in Home, Photography on June 10th, 2006 at 10:58am

Sudi bought me a Hummingbird feeder. It’s really neat because it sticks onto the window. Great for photography! Our first customer came as we packed for our trip to Azusa.

Not the best shot, but more will follow. :)
