We went to Church on Christmas Eve for the candle lighting service then had Christmas at Mom & Dad’s house with all the Gliebes, Lucy, Bob, Mark and David. It was a lot of fun.
SudiRoo got me Out of the Silent Planet by C.S. Lewis, a book light, “Go Fish” cards, a super portable tripod and a flickr Pro account (unlimited photo storage space, etc.). It really is the best way to store, organize and share your photos (has an API too). Sudi got some perfume, all kinds of purses, lots of clothes, boots and a custom CD. Lucy got a bunch of Joyce Meyer tapes and some other goodies. I made two oil paintings for Dan and Mom & Dad. Lucy made us beautiful oil painted aprons and brought the Gliebes some of that fine Mexican chocolate.
Here are our Christmas-time pictures, powered by my new flickr account (which is where we’ll upload all our future photos). Or, visit the actual Christmas 2006 gallery on flickr.
On december 9th, my good friend Reese invited Steven and I to her CD release. It was fabulous, she is a very talented saxophone player and singer. The opening numbers before her, were very good, great gospel music. It was a night full of fun and worship. Our other friend Britt was there and we all had a great time.

Last week my honey took some beautiful pictures of the sunset and I have included one of them. This past Saturday, on December 16th I was invited to a Tea Party. I had never been to one. It was wonderful, I had Candy Cane Lane Tea and Cranberry-Orange Scones.

Yesterday, I was able to sing with the choir at church, we sang from Handel’s Messiah, the Hallelujah Chorus, it was so much fun. I loooooove singing! After the service we took some nice pictures in front of a Christmas tree. It was a cold morning.
This is the first and only blog post I can categorize as “Home” and “Places” at the same time. On clear days I like to peek outside our bedroom window to see if I can see Mt. Helix. Today is especially clear… and with pretty trees. This is the same shot at different zoom levels.
On October 31st our church hosted its annual Royal Night, an alternative to Halloween. Families from the community were invited to bring their kids for free candy, rides and fun activities in a safe environment. Nine teenagers accepted Christ as their savior! 6,000 people attended - so many that hours had to be extended.
Our church has a Director of Servant Ministries whose name is Joyce. What she does is “connect” church members with opportunities to serve. First, she had us take the Spiritual Gifts Inventory. Sudi and I both came out exactly the same as #1 Mercy and #2 Giving. Joyce met with us both to listen to our life stories, our hobbies and abilities, etc. and then suggested some opportunities. For me, she said she had been praying for a photographer to take photos of servants in action, and doing something with photography is exactly what I was hoping for!
I decided that Royal Night would be my first event. With Sudi at my side, as the Name Collector and Target Finder, we managed to get about 12 great shots of servants in action (candid shots are the idea). Joyce plans to use the servant shots on the Shadow Mountain web site in Servant Profiles, on her Servant Photo Wall and in materials used to inspire more servants. She hopes to assemble a bigger team of photographers later so that we can shoot everything that goes on in our church.
Here are some shots from the night. “Servant Action Shots” withheld (with exception of Joyce’s below) since they’re for the Shadow Mountain site. I’ll post a link later when that section of the site is ready.
Our trip to Puerto Vallarta was unforgetable. We ate the most delicious food, enjoyed beautiful sunsets, had a great time with Lucy and friends and rested. We also celebrated our third wedding anniversary on September 8th. It was truly wonderful. We created 6 galleries, click on the pictures below, they will take you to all the pictures on that category. Enjoy!

I took some shots of Sudi in the early morning. They turned out really nice #1 because Sudi is very pretty and #2 because the sun was just above the horizon.
Sudi got me the coolest book for my birthday to compliment the coolest camera she got for my birthday a couple months ago. It’s called Understanding Exposure.
I also got a beautiful Mickey & Minnie birthday card and tonight Sudi’s taking me to The Old Spaghetti Factory. I’ve always wanted to go to the one in San Diego, but they closed it (why would such a popular restaurant close?)! This one is in Duarte, about 10 minutes from Azusa.

Sudi bought me a Hummingbird feeder. It’s really neat because it sticks onto the window. Great for photography! Our first customer came as we packed for our trip to Azusa.
