Texas Ice Storm

Posted by Steven in Garden, Holidays, Home, Outdoors, Photography, Video, Weather on January 5th, 2009 at 07:08pm

Two days ago it was 84 degrees. Today it hovered around 32 all day. That means ice! Winter in north Texas seems to be an unpredictable fluctuation between 30 and 80 degrees. The weather people don’t seem to know what to do. At noon a weather guy said it was going to warm up after lunch. But what really happened next was that our trees became ice sculptures.

Check out the beautiful icicles and enjoy the video of me dropping my frozen shoe. :) Excuse me while I make some Teeccino.

Just a quick note about weather because I like weather. Yesterday was 84 degrees. Today the high is 39. That’s a 45 degree difference from one day to the next! Cool. :)

Stay tuned for a blog about yesterday. It was a beautiful day.

Mucho Rain

Posted by Steven in Garden, Weather on November 11th, 2008 at 07:05am

It rained pretty heavy last night. The news said 3.91″ was recorded at the airport. The squall, as they called it, caused a river to form in our front yard, making our newly planted little Crape Myrtle to become an island of its own.
